The lost connection of Western women’s community….
By Marilyn Tuna
Even though society has begun to lightly grasp the intricate and delicate nature of women’s collective and complex health needs, I can assure you many more years, days, and hours will be invested into painful and roundabout theories about why we still can’t seem to get it right. Women are bleeding to death. They are imploding from the inside, day in ,and day out. They are quite literally losing their minds.
As a woman who holds both a scientific and spiritual perspective on life, I believe that the theory of Western atomisation has torn women apart. We have lost a centralised community system that once nurtured, cared for, and protected each other.
The women of the West have been fragmented—separated from the safety and wholeness of a women’s community. This society is not safe for women. We are not creatures who hunt or gather alone. Our power lies in togetherness, and that has been stripped away.
No amount of medical advancement will, in my opinion, replace the natural system of safety, shared responsibility, and mutual respect that once existed among us. Until we make time to invest in each other and reunite, our beautiful prison cell—without visible gates—will continue to take shape. Our bodies will continue to store the epigenetic trauma of self-imposed slavery, only to pass it on to our daughters.
No woman should feel this lonely in a world so crowded.
